I enjoy going to the Strawberry Festival in Pasadena, Texas.
There’s always lots of food and fun & games for everyone.
I especially like watching the Mud Volleyball Tournament.
When I go to this festival, I always take the helicopter ride for $25. I think it’s worth it because I record the trip for my YouTube Channel and get some photos.
If you want to see the video of the helicopter ride, here is the link to my YouTube videos.

To begin the ride, a cute girl gives you instructions about the flight.
Then the helicopter comes in from giving a ride to some people and I’m next.
I love helicopters, but they look really complicated to fly them.
Here’s the pilot at the controls about to take off.
When the pilot turned, I got a good view of below us because I had no door on my side. It seemed like I was hanging out of the helicopter.
We passed a golf course and was able to see every hole. It was a windy day and the helicopter kept jumping around in the air. Pretty scary.
Then the pilot turned again and I really was hanging out of the helicopter, looking straight down.
Looking at the festival as we approached it was very cool indeed.
I have a good digital video cam and these photos were pulled out of the video. You should watch the video. It’s short, but good.
At the festival, they had cowboys putting on a staged performance with caps in their guns. It was really for the kids.
You could get a nice cowboy hat and some other things while there.
There were lots of food stands to choose from.
I would choose the fajita quesadillas and fried pickle chips.
I like the stands with a lot of colors.
Now that is a Texas sized corn dog.
You could get your name spray painted on a shirt.
If you’ve never had a ‘Bloomin’ Onion’ before, you should try it. They’re delicious.
I’ve had fried alligator before and I liked it… tastes like chicken, lol.
I could eat a whole funnel cake by myself. I haven’t had any funnel cake in a long time because it’s not on my diet, but I may have some at the next event I attend that has them.
I was in line to get a drink and a little girl fainted and fell to the ground. They picked her up and she came back to consciousness.
Then they went to sit under an umbrella and she fainted again. It was probably due to the heat. They took her to first aid. I’m sure she ended up alright.
I always have plenty to drink on hot days.
Everybody at the festival was really nice and friendly.
This is some really good yogurt, but not on my diet plan either.
You could buy toys for your kids also.
The festival has a Midway with games and rides.
This game is really hard. You have to hit Scooby with the ball and have it land in the basket. The ball always bounces too far out and misses the basket. You have to toss it so softly that it barely touches Scooby, then it may land in the basket.
Knocking bottles down with a ball isn’t as simple as it seems. These games are all designed to look easy, but be very difficult to master.
That’s how the carnival people make all of their money. If the games were easy, they wouldn’t be in business very long.
They had some nice stuffed animals for prizes.
This is the game that I’ve mentioned in other blog articles.
I think the hoops are smaller than they should be, making it almost impossible to sink a shot and the hoops are in an area that you can’t put a ball through it to see how small the hole is.
I bet a lot of kids want a Minion stuffed animal.
They had what I call a ‘Wacky Shack’. It has different obstacles that make it a challenge to get through. Kids love them.
They also had some adrenaline rides for older people and bigger kids.
I would ride the Ferris Wheel, but I got better footage from the helicopter.
I’m glad Pasadena has the Strawberry Festival every year. I really enjoy going to it.
I’ve never stayed until after dark, but I bet it gets really lively.
If I were a parent, I’d let my kids ride the rides as much as they wanted.
I’d also videotape it for them when they get older, so they are able to look back on their childhood with fondness.
I never see parents taking video of their kids.
They grow up so fast, I’d want to capture as much as I could.
Now for the Mud Volleyball Tournament.
This is fun to watch.
And they always have cute referees.
The little kids love playing in the muddy water.
Here they are putting the child in it to go play.
If I had a kid I don’t think I’d let them play in this muddy water. I’d be too scared to.
Here’s the girl that I voted as Miss Mud Volleyball for 2015.
She was the cutest player out of everybody.
I hope you have enjoyed looking at my photos from the festival.
If you ever have the chance, you should go. If not, I’ll have more video and photos on my site and blog next year for you to see it through my camera lens.
I have more than 25,000 travel photos on my website, as well as my videos, for your viewing pleasure.
Also, you can ‘Like’ my Facebook page for updates about what events and places I’ll be traveling to next.
