What to say about a place, everyone knows;
It’s a destination, where every partier goes.
Girls, weed, Van Gogh, Rembrandt;
Better eclectic mix, find you can’t.
The girls in the windows are World famous, and been around forever;
Don’t try to photograph, ’cause they’re more clever.
The Marijuana is for sale all over, if that’s your thing;
They have the Cannabis Cup, that’s very exciting.
The Red Light District, has winding, narrow streets;
Careful of the drug dealers, make sure you’re not the one he greets.
Anne Frank hid here for 2 years, evading Hitler and the SS;
She’s in Heaven, where’s Hitler? I’ll give you one guess.
This place means Freedom, for the choices you make;
Liberties to have fun, they do not take.
The people all speak English, and are so polite;
Everywhere you go, it’s Hello or Good Night.
I love to people watch, and imagine where they’re from;
I don’t have to wonder, on why they come.
The canals are beautiful, boats all around and floating;
A dinner cruise, is definitely worth noting.
Van Gogh, cut off his ear, and gave it to his affection;
So I’m told, in that day and age, I bet he got an infection.
Rembrandt lived here, and raised his son;
I bet the two had, a ton of fun.
There’s flowers galore, the most beautiful on Earth;
They harvest when they’re the freshest, right after birth.
There’s Windmills, and those famous wooden shoes;
Make LeBron play in them, he’d have the blues.
Known for its’ Architecture, and city design, it’s a beauty to behold;
It’s not just girlies, coffee shops and drugs, like you’re told.
Visit Amsterdam, you should, if you could;
Who knows, maybe a girlie or bong hit, you would.
It’s laid back, and very mellow;
But don’t cross that street, on a yellow;
Or you’ll be, one dead fellow.
The trains run on schedule, and are very fast;
Step out in front, it’ll be your last.
Meet people, from all over the World, some funny, some strange;
Careful, some could be described, with the word deranged.
Been here many times, would come again;
For people watching, it’s a win, win.
I love it here so, meandering the streets, and seeing the sights;
During Christmas, there’s always the lights.
Returning, I’d say, “Yes Ma’am”;
You guessed it, for I Amsterdam.
