It is the third largest island in Europe,
Go there to visit, you hope.
Dublin, is the capitol city,
It is so pretty.
From the Hill of Tara, you can see quite a ways,
Up there, I would spend days.
Hurling, Football, Rugby, they play,
If not for work, they’d do it all day.
Three more, Golf, Hockey, Cricket,
Score and they’ll say, wow did he stick it.
Their animals, Red Fox, Badger, Hedgehog,
Probably in, that hollowed out log.
Turtle, Whale, Dolphin, Shark,
Take a cruise tour, on a lark.
Don’t look for a snake, thanks to Saint Patrick,
Better than in Hockey, a pretty nice hat trick.
Ran out the snakes, they say,
None to begin with, I say nay.
It was the introduction of Christianity,
He asked them, to grab a knee.
Ran out all the pagans, is his fame,
Some still think serpents, that is their claim.
Ireland is known for the green, it must be grand,
To see such beauty, all over the land.
The Shamrock is a symbol, they dearly love,
Ends up on most every, boxing glove.
Leprechauns have gold, so I am told,
If I see one, considered him rolled.
Darby O’Gill and the Little People, I adore,
When I first saw it, I wanted more.
I love Ireland, my lineage runs through there, I know,
I can’t wait, for my day to finally go.
Ireland has beautiful ladies, I’ve seen them online,
If I lived there, I’d try to make one mine.
When planning your vacation, stop and think a while,
Why not, experience the Emerald Isle.
