Man has a common wish, that he’d like to try;
Be like a bird, and learn to fly.
Soaring through the sky, they make it look easy;
I’d be afraid, I’d get a little queasy.
Different sizes and colors, birds vary;
From the condor, to the canary.
Some eat meat, some eat seed;
Have a large appetite, for flight they need.
Some build a nest, in a tree;
Lots of little sticks, that is the key.
The early bird gets the worm, is what they say;
It means get up, and start your day.
Speaking of worms, that’s what birds love to eat;
Bringing one to their young, for a treat.
Parrots can talk, that’s an amazing thing;
Others sit in their cage, and love to sing.
We have a bird of peace, that is the dove;
No better bird, to symbolize love.
The eagle is our symbol, this land of liberty;
For a while, they wanted to use the turkey.
Birds are beautiful, not just because they can fly;
It’s their colorful feathers, that are pleasing to the eye.
I always look, at the blue sky;
Dreaming of a day, when I could fly.
