Flowers, chocolates and lots of emotion,
A day to show, your devotion.
Red roses, are most often the choice,
They cause women to smile, and rejoice.
Some like to dine, on a fine dinner,
He usually pays, but ends up a winner.
Romance is in the air, and lovers abound,
On a park bench kissing, they can be found.
Cupid shot his arrow, and hit you in the back,
Now you’re in love, and your friends wisecrack.
Spend this day, in love’s splendor,
Give in, and surrender.
Had a date, one Valentine’s Day,
Didn’t turn out, in a good way.
Arrived late, and she was pissed,
The dinner reservation, we almost missed.
She didn’t like the flowers, should have gotten roses,
Allergic to chocolates, she discloses.
Dinner was expensive, and she ate a lot,
On the way home, lucky I was not.
At her house, there was no kiss,
She said she was meeting, her ex-boyfriend Chris.
That’s my luck, that she’s with her ex,
Drive home alone, while they have sex.
Next V Day, I think I’ll stay home alone,
Better than paying, for someone else to bone.
