While visiting my sister at her vacation home in Santa Fe, we decided to go to the balloon fiesta in nearby Albuquerque.
The Midway had lots of booths selling food and souvenirs.
Watching the balloons inflate and lift off was fun.
I had a breakfast burrito when we got there and it was very good. I like carnival food.
We didn’t take a ride but they were offered if you were interested.
Since I’m a fan of pirates, this was my favorite balloon.
Seeing the morning sky filled with balloons was very cool.
People come from all over the world for this fiesta. I saw some people from Germany being interviewed by the local news station.
Walking around, taking in the sights was a pleasant way to pass the time at the fiesta.
There was a Mexican band playing music for tips. We gave them two dollars.
The larger character balloons didn’t inflate until after we had gone for the day.
This “Day of the Dead” balloon was very cool too.
There were thousands of people out each day of the fiesta.
If I’m ever in New Mexico during the balloon fiesta, I’d go back for sure.
