Every Fall in Houston, there is an Art Festival downtown, right by City Hall.
It’s a great way to spend a weekend day, walking through the booths looking at all of the artists’ work.
There’s a lot of people strolling around, buying new art for their homes or offices.
The artists have lots of prints of their work for the people to look through.
This artist made sea turtles out of metal. They were very colorful.
I liked a lot of the paintings that I saw.
A person could find many booths that had jewelry for sale.
There were some very nice necklaces.
And they were on display in nice glass stands.
Most of the jewelry booths were set up just like a store in the mall.
There was a hat maker that had some nice hats.
I liked walking through the booth of the artist who made leather clothing.
I just love the smell of new leather.
A woman could find a nice purse at the Art Festival.
This artist made little foam celebrities. There’s John Lennon, Marilyn Monroe and Albert Einstein in this picture.
One of the booths I liked the most had some pieces made from what looked like stainless steel.
It looked as though he made these pieces with scrap pieces of metal.
This Bull was really cool.
I can’t remember what the price was but I want to say it was about $3,000.
That’s pretty pricey but if you’re putting it in an office you can write off the cost as a decorating expense.
I like dragons and this next artist focused on them.
He made eggs that had dragons being born.
I thought these were very unique.
These extremely nice bird houses were livable for birds and had a removable bottom for cleaning.
Some were $225 and some were $300. Not too cheap, but I bet the birds would love them.
I thought this next picture was cool. It looks like the painting goes over the frame.
I liked this painting also. Nighttime paintings are very cool when the artist knows how to use the yellows to make the lights.
This booth had very colorful glasswork.
Here are some nice vases.
These were vases also but more Earthen.
Each booth was about 10 by 10, but the artists made a lot out of their spaces.
These were some nice flower holders.
I liked the way this artist used lights in their work.
I really enjoyed looking at this painting. I think it was of San Francisco.
I’m not sure what these were, but they were very colorful.
This artist used scraps to make this goat. Very creative. He had life-size horses also.
Here we see where an artist has used shiny metal to create flowers. They were beautiful.
Here’s another artist that used metal in their art.
These native based art pieces were very nice.
This elephant looked like it was coming right at you. Very cool.
I like paintings that are extra wide, like this one.
It was quite peaceful to walk around and watch people admiring the art.
I’m not sure what the artist was trying to say with this painting. He or she has a woman, only wearing a G – string, being hung by a chain. Not very family friendly. Who would want that hanging in their house or office? Not me.
All of the other artwork was very pleasant and suitable for your home.
Here we see some nice metal flower holders.
There was much more art than what I showed you in this article. You can see my entire video on my website.
I like going to the downtown Art Festival and I look forward to going this year and getting some video and photos to show you.
