It’s known for its’ cuisine, and the Chinatown district;
A great vacation spot, you won if you picked it.
They hate Frisco, so don’t say it, at least within ear shot;
Where many a prisoner lay his head, Alcatraz they got.
There’s Military Ships all around, the Presidio is near;
The best way to start your trip, is by walking on the pier.
A stroll down Fisherman’s Wharf, is required for every trip;
If the Bushman scare’s you, him you’re required to tip.
There’s people all painted silver, and some of gold;
Pose for a picture, please give, I am told.
The seafood is to die for, it is so fresh;
Seems like it just came, out of the mesh.
People watching is great sport, they come from all around;
Speak every language, if you listen, I have found.
The hills are beautiful, but your car brakes hate;
Take the cable cars, and you’ll never be late.
The Golden Gate Bridge is World Famous, I’ve photographed it myself;
Learned this lesson the hard way, don’t bike it by yourself.
Rode a bike from Fisherman’s Wharf, so close it looks right there;
Hilly ride, sore legs, dump the bike and leave, I did not care.
Got great photos and learned a lot, would do it again;
But would not get on that bike, to begin.
San Francisco is known far and wide, but can be cold like winter in a tent;
Rode across the Golden Gate and froze, then I knew what Mark Twain meant.
He said, “the coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco”;
Off of the bay, does a cold, bitter wind blow.
I’d go once a month, if I could afford it, I love to eat;
Don’t forget, Rice A Roni is the San Francisco treat.
San Francisco is great for America, it is so grand;
Go visit, and see, the best bridge in all the land.
