Buckingham Palace

London is a fun place to visit. I went during the Holiday’s while I was on my way to Paris. I was only in town for two days but I made the most of it.

I visited Buckingham Palace.

I went by and saw the clock tower that houses the bell named Big Ben.

I went by The London Eye, which is their famous Ferris Wheel. I didn’t ride because the line was too long but I sure would like to see London from the vantage point atop that ferris wheel.

I got a cool pic in front of Buckingham Palace.

I met these two characters on the street and had to get a photo.

When I passed the guard atop his horse, I knew I had to get a pic.

Passed by another guard and got a shot of him too. I couldn’t be a guard and just stand there straight all day without moving. I think that job would just plain suck.

I got to tour Tower Bridge, which was really cool.

I saw the ‘Human Statues’ again in this city. I gave them a tip so I could take their picture.

This person put a lot of work into their project and it shows.

Just imagine doing this all day long, waiting and hoping somebody comes by and tips you well.

When my friend and I arrived in London for our two day visit, we grabbed the first hotel we could. It was small but didn’t cost that much either.

And besides, it was just for two days and we were out and about taking photos and sight-seeing most of the two days we were there.

Buckingham Palace is located in London, England and has served as the residence for the Royal family since 1837. Today it’s the administrative headquarters for the Monarch.

The Palace has 775 rooms and more than 50,000 people visit each year as guests to banquets, lunches, dinners, receptions and the Royal Garden parties.

Buckingham Palace was once known as Buckingham House and was built in 1703 for the Duke of Buckingham.

Below is a picture of Royal Guards riding horses through the crowd in front of the Palace. The Palace has 830,000 square feet of space. There are 1,514 doors in Buckingham Palace.

The 760 windows in the Palace are cleaned every 6 weeks to keep them clean. A flag always flies above Buckingham Palace. When the Queen is in they fly the Royal Standard. When she’s away they fly the Union Flag.

There are 350 working clocks and watches in the Palace.

During the Holiday’s, they use a projector to put colored images on the front of the Palace. It looks extremely cool when you see it in person.

The only problem was that the section on the right side of the building wasn’t lit for some reason so it’s not a symmetrical look

This was my favorite image that they projected onto the Palace. I wish that one section to the right had been lit though.

This is another good look at what the Palace looks like during the Holiday’s.
